About Sanctus Servo
Quid Hoc Ad Aeternitatem?
What is this to eternity?
We are a small, humble, homeschooling, family-owned rosary shop. Inspired by the powerful prayers of the rosary and guided by the example of St. Maximilian Kolbe, our Patron Saint, we at Sanctus Servo are on a mission to spread the Catholic faith as far as we can. We burn with zeal for the Catholic Faith as well as our Blessed Mother's Most Holy Rosary.
We got our start by making rosaries for ourselves, especially durable rosaries that could stand the test of our young children (especially the trials of a toddler!). It was our goal to teach our kids at a young age to have a devotion to Mary and her Holy Rosary. After falling in love with our own designs and sharing them with our friends and family, we decided to do what St. Kolbe would do next - use the tools of the time (the internet) to continue spreading the rosary to all the parts of the world.
New to The Rosary or trying to teach somebody how to pray it? We have resources available to help you or your loved ones increase your fervor for The Rosary!
Our Mission
Milites Christi sumus
Our mission doesn't stop at spreading the rosary. Our goal is to evangelize others on the truths of the Catholic faith, especially those that may already be familiar with the faith but do not know the deeper truths. We sell rosaries as a means to arm the soldiers of the Church Militant and make sure they are equipped for the important mission at hand (saving souls), but we also sell and distribute stickers, shirts and hoodies with Catholic messaging as a way to help spread the faith, strike up a conversation, and share the truth with all nations, just as St. Maximilian Kolbe did.
Laborare est orare
As Holy Servants, we stand as guardians of tradition, committed to nurturing faith among the faithful and awakening it within those seeking a path less traveled. We believe that work is sanctifying for the soul. We use our humble rosary shop to teach our young children a strong work ethic, the importance of shunning idleness, the beauty of quality over quantity, and how to love every person we interact with, just as Our Lord did. Our kids from about 3 years and up all help in our work with varying degrees of jobs from counting beads, to sorting beads, to packing orders and everything in between! Our family shop is our family passion. Our rallying cry, ‘Who do you serve?’, encapsulates our dedication to serving the divine purpose and defending the faith from a world that sometimes strays from its essence.
About Sanctus Servo's Paracord Rosary
Rosary Sizes
- All rosaries are handmade by our small Catholic family of 6 (but baby Kolbe doesn't help out just yet!).
- The children’s size rosaries typically use smaller beads (~10mm), a smaller crucifix (~1.5”) and a smaller devotional medal (~.75”).
- The adult or regular size rosaries typically use 11-12mm beads, a 2-3” crucifix and 1” devotional medal.
- Any rosary can be customized to change rope/bead color or crucifix/devotional medal depending on what we have in stock, just send us a message!
- We can also accommodate large orders, feel free to reach out.
- Check out our resources page if you need a copy of any of the blessings to hand to your priest, especially the St. Benedict medal blessings.
** Remember to have your rosary and devotional medal(s) blessed (and exorcised if it is a St. Benedict medal) by a priest before use for maximum indulgences!
Rosary Safety
Wearing Rosaries
- Most of our paracord rosaries (and the rope rosaries) can fit around most heads and be worn, though we do not suggest it (especially with children!) as they cannot break away easily. They are designed to be strong, durable and unbreakable and are made from paracord, therefore they can be a choking hazard.
- If you still wish to wear it, most of our rosaries hang about 18" in length, with the center loop about 24" in circumference, which fits around most heads. If you'd like extra slack built in, we can make a custom one for you, just reach out to us.
- Please note that the rosary is most effective when prayed on, rather than simply worn as an article of clothing and we encourage all of our customers to use them in that manner. EWTN has a good article by Father Edward McNamara, LC on Wearing the Rosary as a Necklace.
Kid's Rosaries
- Our Kid's rosaries are intended for older children. The Kid's rosaries are specifically designed to withstand the normal wear-and-tear of a child (tested with our own children!). As such, they do not break away and should not be worn as a necklace. In addition, the material composition of the rosaries (which varies from design-to-design) should not be placed in a mouth. If you're looking for a rosary that is more baby-friendly, check out the lovely offerings at Chews Life.
Materials
Our materials are sourced from many suppliers inside and outside of the U.S. and vary from design to design. Here are some of the materials we use in our rosaries:
- Our ropes are made of various materials including nylon and polyester.
- The majority of our Crucifixes and devotional medals are made of a silver-plated (Italian-made) ZAMAC (a metal alloy of mostly zinc).
- The beads on our metal-beaded rosaries are also made of a zinc alloy.
- Our gold, rose gold, copper, olive and even gunmetal metal beads utilize copper to give them their coloring. As such, the color may change over time (for more information on maintaining color, see our Rosary Care page.)
- The majority of our plastic beads are made of acrylic or other plastic materials. Various types of paints and coloring are used to give them their color (which may include metal ingredients).
- Our split-rings are made of a zinc alloy.
- If you have any questions on our materials or on a specific rosary, please don't hesitate to contact us.
